Non Solo Lago project is happy to invite you to discover Saturday, June 18 a splendid spot of Lake Como: Dongo and Robba beekeeping.
This walk goes from the centre of Dongo towards the oldest boroughs of Martinico and Barbignano, delving deeper into the events and evolution of one of the most populous towns on the lake’s western shore, with stories about the extraction of iron and the development of the Falck steelworks.
After walking for around 30 minutes from the Ponte della Regina bridge, we will reach a more rural setting and will learn about a beekeeping workshop with strong roots in the area, which is now led passionately by new generations. At the Robba beekeeping workshop we will be greeted by Sonia the “mielista” (honey expert), who will give a demonstration of the process’s various stages and will explain how to live closely side-by-side with bees.
Meeting point: Dongo Town hall (Piazza Paracchini) at 3pm
Cost 10€ per person, (Free for children aged under 12)
